What kind of place it is
Tierra is a small vegan restaurant run by its owner-chef, open since 2020. The public listing on HappyCow names vegan ramen, gyoza and soy karaage, Japanese comfort food made without meat. It is one of the few kitchens in the valley where vegans can order anything on the menu, which is why it keeps coming up when people ask for vegan dinner that is not Roots Cafe.
Before you go
The catch is information. Tierra has no website we can find, and the English listing was last updated in February 2024. That listing says lunch needs booking the day before. We are not printing dinner hours because nothing current confirms them. Ask your lodge to call or message for you in Japanese, and treat a confirmed booking as the only green light. Getting there

If Tierra is closed
Hige Cafe in Echoland says it does vegetarian and vegan, with a separate vegetable fryer. Meteor Dining, also in Misorano, has vegan and gluten-free raw cakes for dessert.
