Your trip
Answer a few questions and we’ll point you at the right hill.
Start here
- 01Happo-one 八方尾根
The 1998 Olympic hill and the village's default mountain. Steep upper faces, a long alpine traverse, and a base that dumps you into Happo re…
- 02Iwatake 岩岳
Family hill, gondola, stay Wadano. North of Happo, so Wadano/Iwatake stays make more sense than Echoland.
- 03Goryu 五竜
Two bases (Toomi and Iimori) linked as one hill, plus the 47 connection on a valid ticket. Wider, more readable than Happo. English group le…
No car: Happo and Echoland win for dinner. Cortina, Norikura, Sanosaka, Jiigatake and Kashimayari need a car.

02
How to get there
Highway bus, shinkansen plus Alpico, Nagano Snow Shuttle, or a car with winter tyres. A 7-day national JR Pass is often a bad buy for Tokyo to Hakuba only.

Night skiing
Night skiing is not on the all-mountain pass. Buy a separate ticket. Check hakubavalley.com for 2026–27. Goryu is the usual hill.
The ski-day shuttle is a separate ticket — live times on hakubavalley.com.
