The 1998 Olympic hill and the village's default mountain. Steep upper faces, a long alpine traverse, and a base that dumps you into Happo restaurants. Best if you want to walk to dinner. Worst if your group is all first-day rentals looking for a wide nursery.

Happo has run night skiing on lower slopes in some seasons. Separate night ticket at the window.

Watch-outs
- Upper mountain is not a beginner park. Kokusai / Usagidaira is the usual learning zone.
- Storm days on the ridge close a lot of what people came for.
Shuttle: Most valley buses stop at Happo. Staying here makes the other hills easier.
